Nepal 2021

This project, a piped system with 15 Tap Stands for the Karnali Province in Nepal, was funded by Eudora in 2021 and completed in 2023.

These 15 tap stands are a part of a larger grant that will bring clean, safe water to over 37K people living in the Karnali Province. Our contribution will help directly provide clean water to 94 people.

As of April 2023, HELVETAS Nepal finished construction on all 69 of the planned water supply systems with Water User and Sanitation Committees (WUSCs) formed to maintain the long-term functionality of each water point! Members of the committees received training on sanitation, hygiene, and management of the systems in addition to water sanitation awareness activities happening at households across the area.

The photo to the left was taken during a 15-day masonry training conducted in the Dailekh District. The training included 29 participants from 12 working rural communities who learned skills specific to water, sanitation, and hygiene as well as general skills useful in other construction projects.
